What I've been up to + giveaway reminder

I got a new sewing machine! Well new to me anyway. It's a Bernina 230 activa patchwork edition, I call her Rhonda. My local fabric store, Fabricland sent a card in the mail that they were selling off the machines used in the sewing school. This is the same exact model that my Mom bought 2 years ago and I've been using and loving. I knew I had to buy one for myself, and it was a really great deal.  I couldn't turn it down!

I bought this adorable vintage pattern on Ebay. I love the scalloped neckline. It's the perfect dress for engagement photos, or a party. I spent more than I wanted to on this pattern. What's the most you'll spend on a pattern?

I signed up for Gertie's online Bombshell Dress Course via Craftsy. Has anyone else signed up, it's fabulous, and well worth the money (it's half price). It's worth it just to see the adorable handmade outfits Gertie wears in each chapter! I think I can use this pattern and Gertie's tips to try and salvage my blue dress.

I've also been doing a little bit of knitting. This is the Valentine Cardigan from Spud and Chloe. I'm using madelinetosh merino light in this gorgeous tangerine color. I think i will make it a little shorter in the torso and perhaps smaller sleeves.
