Ceylon Dress

Another project finished! This is the Ceylon dress from Colette Patterns. I used a light weight navy and white polka dot cotton print from Fashion Fabrics Club. For this project I made muslin, and then increased the fronts (at the buttons) about half an inch. It fits like a dream! The shape of this dress is flattering and comfortable to wear. I think it's my favorite thing I've sewn so far! I was so happy to wear it on Easter.

  15. Good morning! I see this post is a few years old now, but I found it whilst browsing for pics of the Ceylon pattern. It's on sale right now and I'm thinking of it. I am a beginner sewer, but will be ready to try something more difficult soon. My big question, is does it gape in front with the buttons going all the way down? Thanks!

    1. Hi Nita, it shouldn't gape as long as it fits
